eMathsMaster was an e-learning company providing online maths courses. My role was to produce animated lesson videos that taught users mathematical concepts primarily for Key Stages 2-4 as well as ‘Teaching Techniques’ videos that gave teachers tips and tricks to teach said concepts.
The courses were written by eMathsMaster’s partner, The Dean Trust. Lessons and Teaching Techniques videos were outlined to us with a scripts, notes and diagrams that acted as our storyboards. Our motion team would then bring these lessons to life.
We used After Effects templates that had rigged characters already created and ready to animate for any character animation. These rigs also had various pre-animated actions that could be applied to the characters however, depending on the subject matter, we’d very often custom animate the characters for the videos. We’d source vector assets from Freepik as well as create our own in Illustrator.
Even though we didn’t have Cinema 4D licences at eMathsMaster, I liked to use the Lite version to create simple assets to enhance the videos. Check out the last images on this page.
